The name “Soft-Touch” didn’t come from a marketing agency. It came from the Navy.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Luis Ramos studied Exercise Science at Bloomsburg University. His early career as a physical therapy aide reflected a passion for serving others.

But a bigger calling found him. After completing flight training in Pensacola, FL, Luis launched into a distinguished 11-year career as a U.S. Navy helicopter pilot and instructor. He rose to Lieutenant Commander, led flight crews, managed complex operations, and earned the call sign “Soft-Touch” for his calm, precise approach.

Married at 25 and soon a father, Luis knew deployments meant long months away from the family he cherished. Determined to bring his leadership home, he transitioned from Navy aviation to community-centered entrepreneurship.

“I’m not trying to be the biggest. I just want to be known. Known for being fair, honest, and dependable. Known for doing clean work and keeping our word. Known for building something real.”

Today, as founder of Soft-Touch Roofing & Exterior, Luis applies the same discipline and attention to detail that once kept aircraft mission-ready. What began as a call sign in the cockpit is now a promise in the Poconos.
